Amy Montanaro, LCSW-C
Hi! I'm Amy and I'd love to connect with you.
I'm passionate about supporting women who are fearful about returning to their career after being a stay-at-home-mom, women who are affected by their teen's or young adult's challenges, and women who are overwhelmed by caring for children and aging parents. You may be experiencing other changes, too, and you may feel surprised by feelings of worry, sadness, or anger.
So often these life changes leave us feeling isolated, stuck and wondering how we are going to get through. Many of the women I work with say they are confused about why these common "no-big-deal" changes are, in fact, a cause of turmoil and overwhelm.
I believe that we instinctively know what we want and need. Too often, life experiences get in the way and leave us feeling stuck, isolated and lost. Our work together will be to help you get back to your authentic self and feel like you are living the life you want.
While I have the credentials to help, I also have the life experience:
I returned to graduate school after several of my own life transitions. Motherhood, moving, returning to school and job changes...it feels overwhelming sometimes! Because of my own experience, my approach is to give you a place to feel empathy, support and non-judgment. We will work to re-connect you with your strengths and help propel you forward.
When I'm not in the office you can usually find me on my yoga mat. It is the place where I most feel like I am reconnecting my mind and body. I recently completed yoga teacher training and gained so much from this incredible experience.
